The Pumpkin Tournament 2025, organised by our project partner ASD Borgomanero Sporting Club, took place from 31 October to 2 November at the Pala Cadorna in Borgomanero. The event brought together basketball, community spirit, and seasonal celebration, creating an engaging atmosphere for young athletes and families.
Beyond the competitive games, the tournament served as an opportunity to highlight the importance of environmental awareness and sustainable behaviour in sports, aligning closely with the core objectives of the REBOUND project. Through local actions such as this, sports clubs can play a key role in promoting positive habits, responsible resource use, and a deeper understanding of the principles of the circular economy.
As part of REBOUND’s mission, initiatives like the Pumpkin Tournament demonstrate how basketball events can become not only moments of sport and fun, but also meaningful occasions to introduce ideas about sustainability to athletes, coaches, and the wider community.
