2nd Information and Training Seminar – Evnikos Sports Club

Evnikos Sports Club successfully conducted the 2nd information and training seminar within the European REBOUND project (Reshaping Basketball Organizations Using Circular Economy and New Developments) on 11 February 2026.

The session focused on deepening the understanding of circular economy practices in grassroots basketball and exploring their practical application. Participants, including parents, athletes, and club representatives, engaged in discussions on how to reduce waste, extend the lifespan of sporting equipment, and implement more sustainable operational models within their club.

The seminar highlighted the five thematic areas of the REBOUND project: Education & Awareness, Waste Prevention and Reuse, Sustainable Sport Activities and Events, Sustainable Management of Equipment and Materials, and Digital Transformation & Paper Reduction. Through practical demonstrations and real-life examples, attendees gained insights into cost-effective, scalable actions that can be integrated into daily club operations.

By emphasizing replication strategies and community involvement, the seminar reinforced the role of grassroots basketball clubs as catalysts for sustainable practices, social inclusion, and long-term cultural change. This second session represented a key step in consolidating knowledge, fostering engagement, and promoting environmental responsibility in the local basketball community.
