On 30 August 2025, our partner ASD Borgomanero Sporting Club successfully organized the Swap & Smile initiative in Borgomanero, Italy. The event marked the beginning of the 2025/26 sports season with a strong message: sport can bring people together while promoting sustainability.
During the afternoon, families were invited to bring sports clothes, shoes, and equipment they no longer used. These items were exchanged and given a second life, reducing waste and supporting those who needed them. What started as a simple idea quickly became an inspiring moment of sharing, reuse, and community building.
This initiative reflects the values of the REBOUND Project, which promotes circular economy practices in basketball and beyond. By encouraging reuse and responsible resource management, activities like Swap & Smile show how sports clubs can act as role models for sustainability and community engagement.
